Relocation, Relocation
Back in September we relocated our woolly wonderland to a vibrant creative quarter in the heart of the village of Langley Park in County Durham. We are not situated directly on Front Street, rather we are set back in a cobbled courtyard just behind the little parade of shops. These shops include other independents such as Sweet Sally Cinnamon, Cafe #4 and the Nook.Opening Hours
You can usually tell if Woolaballoo is open as our A-frame stands at the entrance to the Courtyard so please come on in and say hello! Our usual hours of opening are Tuesday to Saturday from 10am until 4.30pm. We do however run various events and host a regular Knit Night on a Monday which takes place from 6pm-9pm. All are very welcome; we have a wide range of abilities and ages within the group. There is always plenty of inspiration and experience to draw on. We would love you to join us whenever you can. There is no commitment to come along every week and all we ask is that you bring your current project and bags of enthusiasm. If you don’t have anything on the go, we’ll make sure that you go away inspired! Not local? Why not stalk us on Social Media?
If you are not local to County Durham you can stalk us on most Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest as well as subscribing to our newsletter via the website where we aim to keep you updated on goings on in our little woolly wonderland. We’d be delighted too if you shared some of your Woolaballoo makes with us so that we can share the woolly love far and wide.Come on In!
So… when you see the A-frame and this sign come on through the gates into the courtyard. Here you will find Woolaballoo tucked away around the end of the brick wall – truly a hidden gem! We have a large workshop area situated in the main shop itself giving us the opportunity to run classes and share skills with ease. If you’d like to see what’s coming up then do subscribe to the newsletter via the Woolaballoo website. This will provide details of all forthcoming in-store events and external exhibitions that we are participating in.Woolaballoo caters for all tastes and budgets and stocks primarily British yarns with a high wool content. Our current favourites include West Yorkshire Spinners yarns which are reared, sheared and spun in the UK, hand-dyed yarns by the Knitting Goddess, Erika Knight BFL and Studio Linen, Woolyknit lines, as well as Stylecraft favourites. We also stock an extensive range of notions and knitting needles, crochet hooks and accessories alongside DMC embroidery silks and gorgeous gift ideas.
Howay In and take a look around, the kettle is always on… xx
Useful to know where the new location is! A hidden treasure indeed 🙂
Indeed Alison. It is a little tucked away but as long as you look out for the bunting on the wrought iron gates and come on through to the courtyard you’ll have no difficulty in locating us!
Are you holding knitting groups for complete novice? I can only knit a scarf, and want to do more and crochet 😀
Hi Helen, Yes we run lots of social groups and classes to develop your skills. The best one to start with is a Monday evening 7-9pm in the shop which costs just £2 a week and there is always someone there to help out. We are also about to start up a Lazy Sunday Crafternoon the first Sunday of the month from 1-4pm again costing £2 for tea, coffee and biscuits. Come along and join the fun. x
Visiting from South Africa. Are you open over xmas and new year period
